Update : Please Join the Female Future - Google Backs Off

Update : On Friday Google issued the following statement on Blogger: “We’ve had a ton of feedback, in particular about the introduction of a retroactive change (some people have had accounts for 10+ years), but also about the negative impact on individuals who post sexually explicit content to express their identities.
“So rather than implement this change, we’ve decided to step up enforcement around our existing policy prohibiting commercial porn.”
“Blog owners should continue to mark any blogs containing sexually explicit content as ‘adult’ so that they can be placed behind an ‘adult content’ warning page,” 

So it seems that Google is reverting to the old content policy on Blogger after taking considerable heat for their previous about face.

We/we are hopeful that this means business as usual for the FemaleFuture blog and We/we won't have to go private after all since this is certainly not a commercial porn blog. As always it's a place We/we relate Our/our personal thoughts and experiences with a like minded audience of adults.

To everyone who responded so positively to Our/our request to join Us/us if we had to go private We/we send out a huge thank You/you! Your/your interest and kind words of support are hugely appreciated.


In lieu of Google's censorship of adult blogs Goddess and i have been debating what to do. We/we don't want to lose all the content created over the past few years and obviously don't want to lose contact with Our/our readers either. This puts Us/us in a difficult position. So far the options we've come up with are as follows

• Move to another platform. Still being explored. tumblr doesn't seem to offer the right format for Our/our content. Wordpress policies on adult content are rather ambiguous and they seem to discourage it.
• Set up own own website. Under consideration but this will require an investment of both time and money so this seems like something further out but still possible.
• Give up and shut down the blog. We/we really really don't want to do this and it would just let Google get away with this nonsense.
• Go private and members only

It's this last option We/we feel is the best solution for the time being. The downside of this is real. Apparently we can only invite 100 people to be readers/members so it will be a rather exclusive club.

Nevertheless this would seem to be the 'best' (or perhaps 'least-worst') option at least in the short to medium term.

In creating this blog We/we never had the expectation of having millions of readers and frankly We / we were happy if anyone would enjoy it.

So in that spirit We/we would like to invite any of You/you who would like to continue reading Female Future to join Us/us.

Comments on this blog are put in the moderation cue so if you make a comment on this thread i will receive Your/your request for an invitation without the comment being published and will send you an invitation once i flip the switch (i may need an email address to send the invite so I won't publish Your/your comment to avoid posting your address).

i will leave the blog 'public' for the next few weeks and make a post before i switch to 'private'. Once that happens invites will go out.

We/we know this sucks to say the least but would appreciate You/you staying with us if possible.
