While waiting to catch a connecting flight yesterday at the airport i suddenly found myself surrounded by a group of young, attractive Females engaged in vibrant conversation. After listening to them talk for a few minutes i was able to discern that they were a group of medical students on their way to a conference in a larger city. As the minutes passed they were joined by many more of their classmates until from what I could gather from the conversation, virtually the entire class year of their medical school had joined them. What stuck me instantly was that this by now large group was about 2/3’s Female. Looks like all those statistics about Women’s success in higher education were not just some abstract statistical finding. I could see it right in front of me. It also made me think of how some males, feeling threatened by the success of Women, try to pick apart these statistics and claim that in certain specific, academically tough subjects, males still outnumber Females. Funny i always thought of medicine as one of the most difficult areas of study with very high academic performance levels required just to gain entry to the program. my only response when i hear such defensive posturing by pride wounded males is suck it boys. The winds of change are blowing.Another thing that made me smile was when i overheard a conversation of among some of the Female students. One said “I want to go see some male strippers!”. All of Her friends enthusiastically agreed. The Girls then went into a debate about the different types of male strip shows with one of the Girls saying that Chippendales act was more about the show than about stripping, which all the Girls agreed with.

A few years back, i used to hang out at a local wine bar.And once or twice a week, one particular group of women would come in for a "Girls Night Out". They were all roughly between 24-30 years old.And worked at a local hospital in the administrative section. They were your typical modern day accomplish female proffessionals
One day about 5 of them brought in a new co-worker that i had never seen before[these were all neighborhood women that i knew by name.But not intimatly.We were aquantinces.Not friends]
The women were casually chatting and laughing ,when the new woman said that she had to be getting home to do some laundry.The other women were genuinly shocked a sincerly asked her why her husband wasnt doing it
The gist of the next part of the conversation was that of the 6 women, the new lady did all of the housework at her house.Two of the women had their husbands do most of the housework.And the other three had thier husbands do all of the housework.One woman gleefully declared that her husband was vacuuming the house and doing laundry even as she spoke
The new friend /co-worker was astonished. She was wide-eyed when she asked the other women "How did that happen?And how can i get my husband to do the housework?"
I would love to write a sexy and erotic conclusion to the story.But i do want to be truthful.And the sad truth is that happy hour had started.And the bar was starting to get crowded[the ladies were about ten feet from me]and loud. So i couldnt hear the rest of the conversation.
I do know that the one lady stayed with her friends/co-workers.and didnt go home early that night to do the laundry.And i do know that she had a big grin on her face as her friends seemed to be either giving her advice, or telling her the secret to making husbands do the housework.The woman's facial expression went from one of astonishment, to one of wicked glee
I moved out of that neighborhood,shortly later.So i havent seen those women for years. But ive always wondered how the one woman's marriage changed. I had a feeling that from then on, her husband was going to be doing the housework ,while she hung out with her new girlfriends
Over the years i have heard many women gleefully brag to their girlfriends that their husband does all of the housework. Its defintly a bragging point for many of them
More and more young women seem to be going to clubs which feature male strippers. Im in my 40s.and i rarely saw this happening in the 1980s.But in the past 20 years, ive known many female friends that have had Bachelorette parties that feature male strippers. And these same women forbid thier own husbands-to-be from having female strippers at thier bachelor parties .I remeber hearing one guy that i knew, jokingly complain about his bride to be being able to have male strippers, while he was forbidden to have female strippers at his party. She calmly told him "Because im the boss from now on" .She said this in a semi-jokingly way.But i noticed that he looked sheepish, as all of the women at the bar laughed and giggled and all of the men looked as sheepish as the my male friend did
