“This is really something that’s been building and there’s no reason that I can see why it won’t continue [or] go over 50 per cent,” says Liza Mundy, a journalist for the Washington Post and author of the forthcoming book The Richer Sex: How the New Majority of Female Breadwinners is Transforming Sex, Love and Family. In fact, the momentum has prompted Mundy and observers like her to ask one very loaded question about the future: “Could we get to a world where that becomes the norm—where if the wife is working she’s likely out-earning her husband?”


In reading a recent article on the growing phenomenon of Women bread winners (now at about 35 % of couples and rising steadily) i was very pleased that this growing trend is breaking into the mainstream media but I had a few thoughts of my own (not surprisingly).  While the article i feel strikes the right tone in praising this growing trend and even predicting that this will soon be the new normal in the majority of F/m relationships i was struck by some of the discussion about the problems this is causing in some relationships. It seem to me in virtually all instances where this becomes an issue it really is the mans fault. The problems seem to break into two groups. One where the males ego is bruised by his Wife/Girlfriends seeming ease in out-earning and out-advancing him and the other occurring when he does not take on a share of the domestic duties consummate with his role as the lesser earner. It seems some males just don’t get the idea that if She is doing the work to support the couple economically then he should be doing the support on the home front to compensate (cooking, cleaning, errands etc). I noticed that this seem to be a problem, at least in the couples profiled, among somewhat older couples (40+ or maybe closer to 50+). I wonder if younger males in their teens, 20’s and 30’s feel the same way? After all these guys are by now well used to being outclassed by Females in school and in a growing number of professions. They, i imagine, would be far more amicable to this new world order, having grown up in an Alpha-Female world were they are surrounded by hyper-smart, ambitious, focused Girls (a Girl-Power culture if you will). i guess like all change there will always be a certain level of friction but it seems to me the faster males get with the new program the more harmonious our societies and relationships will be.

FinDom FemDom. What to make of it?

I was thinking recently about the online proliferation of FinDom (Financial Domination or exploitation of males by Females) while looking though the profiles of many Females on twitter (in this case) and I started to think about this phenomenon in a Female Domination / Female Supremacy context. As a strong believer in the Supremacy of Females I’ll state up front that i see nothing wrong with Women exploiting men in any way they see fit, we exist to serve as far as i am concerned. That said it got me to thinking more broadly about this topic and asking myself a few questions such as ; 

1) Is this really a new thing? No, not at all. Females have been subtly and not so subtly exploiting males forever*** but like with so many things the web vastly expands and proliferates our knowledge of it. Think about it. I remember in junior high and high school the site of attractive Girls having boys carry their books home from school, wash Their cars, drive Them wherever ever they wanted to go, pay for dates and presents. I myself can remember a Girl calling me up one time and asking me to come over to Her house to set up Her new computer. i wasn’t even dating this Girl, i didn’t even know Her very well, but i was at Her front door about 10 minutes later. What gives? Well at about that age boys of course become enthralled by Girls and fueled by raging hormones of course and will do just about anything to gain Their attention and approval. Of course from the boys perspective this is all about sex, the idea that if they can gain Her precious approval it will lead to Her granting of ultimate satisfaction. Of course from the Girls point of view this is usually ridiculous. They have no intention of granting sexual favours to boys (at least not most boys) but many do welcome the attention and see an opportunity to exploit this new found male weakness. males become so enthralled they will do just about anything for the Girls no matter how objectively irrational it may seem. Many will take advantage. After all, why let all that testosterone fueled energy go to waste? It actually works for both sides. The guys get to spend time with the Girls, which is what they want more than anything and the Girls get some flattering attention and a personal and willing helper to make their lives easier and more enjoyable. At that age a new dynamic is established. Suddenly the Girls have Power over the boys. They know it and the boys know it as well (no matter how much they want to deny it they know it to be true). It may vary in how much and to what extent the Girls take advantage of this newfound power but many exploit it pretty aggressively. Is this Female Dominance? Well yes of course it is even if it isn’t stated explicitly and financial dominance is often a component of this. 2) FinDom and the Alpha-Female? Now when I began dating seriously dating in a pool of highly educated alpha-girls I suddenly saw a shift away from the high school model. Suddenly I was confronted with bright, attractive, super-smart Women who in no way wanted me to pay Their way in anything, not even on a date. At first i found this pretty confusing coming after my high school experiences but i soon figured out after seeing it a few times that this was Their way of ensuring that no male has any leverage or power over them. They were making sure they owe men nothing and any expectations that the males may have are not relevant. Only Her expectations are relevant. This actually makes a lot of sense. At that age males are starting to have increased financial resources and naturally they think that maybe, just maybe, they can re-balance the power dynamic in relationships, trying to balance Her Sexual Power with his own financial power. Of course this is again not very smart thinking as these Girls now have as much or more financial resources than pretty much any guy. 3) So what then is up with the popularity of FinDOM? Well I think what we may be seeing is Women developing a more nuanced/balanced attitude towards males and their money. It may be that today's (generation 2 or 3) Alpha-Female can have it both ways. On the one hand there are plenty of males out there only too willing to trade their resources (money or gifts) in the hope of gaining the attention of a desirable Female. This is undoubtedly true, males i believe are hard-wired with this dynamic, we feel we must give to the Female in return for Her attention and affection. No matter how illogical or irrational this belief is we males still act this way almost impulsively. It seems to be a core part of what we are and what we need. i believe also that as Women gain more and more power in society it drives males natural submissiveness towards Females in general. Don’t doubt for a second that this submissive element is really there. males understand Female Sexual Power innately, we can literally feel it. we naturally give to the Female our time, energy, resources in a way that can only be described as a gesture of submission to Her Will and Priorities. we give up our freedom to Her. The expression of a man being ‘whipped’ is tossed around so often that it takes on the aura of ‘it’s funny because it’s true’. men make this joke to each other, i think, more often than Women make it about men, we acknowledge Women’s Power over us to each other even if only in a joking way. we know it to be true. Women know it to be true as well. i think that Women today are becoming so confidant in their dealings with males because They understand Their sexual, financial and intellectual advantage over males and think little of using these powers to Their advantage. It may be that in a dating situation today’s Women won’t permit a male to gain any advantage but once a stronger more developed relationship takes hold something changes. i know in my own experience it went from ‘I am paying My own way’ to “you are paying for that”. i think that today many Women have little hesitation in both exploiting males while being able to retain all the power in the dynamic. Online this is even easier as the exploited male can simply transfer his resources to Her virtually without the Female ever having to really allow him into Her life. Yet it still provides the means for Her to interact with and show him some attention, which is what he craves. This allows his submissiveness to be further energized as She receives his tributes to Her Beauty and Power. 4) Isn’t this just flagrant abuse of males? Well yes and no. Understand that males crave submitting to Females, we enjoy it, even the humiliation involved feels good to us. we assume that many Women enjoy not just their Power but the explicit acknowledgement of Her Power that we make in so submitting. It brings rewards to those exploited males and to those Goddesses who exploit us. For those males in a real offline relationship with their own personal Goddess we get to live this dynamic on a daily basis but for many others the FinDom route offers them an opportunity to worship a Female Deity even if She does not take him as Her personal off-line submissive. Just the opportunity to submit and worship fulfills a deep need within males. That Women may benefit from that seems only natural to me. 5) But can it go too far? Sure, of course. If a male gives so much of his resources to his FinDominatrix that it completely destroys his life or makes him more resentful than worshipful towards Women then that is clearly not healthy. Also if it becomes so all consuming that it takes him away from opportunities to meet a real in-the-flesh Goddess and develop a relationship with Her this is again not healthy. It would seem that balance it the key as in many things. Also we are talking about adults here who in addition to strong desires and urges also have free will and can make their own decisions. If a male chooses to worship a Female in a FinDom relationship and the Female wishes to be worshiped this way then so be it, that is Their/their choice. As always the male makes a choice to submit and the Female chooses to accept his submission.

***Yes i am well aware that males have brutally/violently exploited Females forever as well but that is a form of repulsive exploitation beyond the scope of this article.

FemSupreme Music Videos : Beyoncé - Run The World (Girls)

This video is yet another example of one with very strong FemSupreme themes and imagery only more contemporary than the Bannarama video i discussed earlier. It opens with Beyonce riding on Her horse through a wasteland of destruction, the detritus of an oppressive patriarchy. We then see flashes of a Feminine awaking. The beautiful Woman pounds Her fists in anger, another emerges from Her cage, the sacrificial Female dismounts the cross. We see a flash of a bull, an obvious male symbol followed by a gang of militaristic male thugs charging forward. Only this time they encounter a large group of Women, united against them, a male lion lies passively at their feet, another symbol of male savagery tamed. Beyonce, resplendent in gold like a Queen, leaves the group and advances with absolute confidence towards the attacking males. The males stop, uncertain what to do and of what they are dealing with. Beyonce gives them a cold look and all the women salute and gesture in unison, showing that they are united and strong. She then opens the song with the lyrics sending a message to the confused males (Who runs this Mf’ing world? GIRLS!). She then walks among them pushing them, teasing them, showing them Her lack of respect for what they represent. She literally divides them and forces them to follow. She gives them the finger and puts Her foot down. There is a quick cut scene where She holds two dangerous wild animals in chains, symbolizing Her power (an overt Femdom image?). The males begin to cower with fear as the extent of Her power and strength become apparent to them. The Women advance on the males in a highly sexualized dance routine displaying their Sexual Power to the males who begin to fall back. The males attempt to regroup and advance but by this time the legions of Females arrayed against them are too large. I’m a little disappointed that the video ends without being taken to its logical conclusion but in the final scene Beyonce advances on the male leader and strips away a symbol of his authority and if i am not mistaken he makes an expression as if he likes it.

I will never understand conventional male-oriented porn that portrays Women in bondage. How could such Beauty, such Power, such Intensity be contained? What male would want a Female so contained. Female Supremacy at the Airport

While waiting to catch a connecting flight yesterday at the airport i suddenly found myself surrounded by a group of young, attractive Females engaged in vibrant conversation. After listening to them talk for a few minutes i was able to discern that they were a group of medical students on their way to a conference in a larger city. As the minutes passed they were joined by many more of their classmates until from what I could gather from the conversation, virtually the entire class year of their medical school had joined them. What stuck me instantly was that this by now large group was about 2/3’s Female. Looks like all those statistics about Women’s success in higher education were not just some abstract statistical finding. I could see it right in front of me. It also made me think of how some males, feeling threatened by the success of Women, try to pick apart these statistics and claim that in certain specific, academically tough subjects, males still outnumber Females. Funny i always thought of medicine as one of the most difficult areas of study with very high academic performance levels required just to gain entry to the program. my only response when i hear such defensive posturing by pride wounded males is suck it boys. The winds of change are blowing.


Another thing that made me smile was when i overheard a conversation of among some of the Female students. One said “I want to go see some male strippers!”. All of Her friends enthusiastically agreed. The Girls then went into a debate about the different types of male strip shows with one of the Girls saying that Chippendales act was more about the show than about stripping, which all the Girls agreed with.

FemSupreme Music Videos : Bananarama's Venus

This video has to be one of the earliest videos I remember seeing with clear Female Power / Female Supremacist imagery and themes running throughout. I remember seeing it first at about the same time i hit puberty, or about the same time i began to see girls** as G-I-R-L-S. To this day i still remember it pushing all of my submissive buttons. Now of course for me adolescence was the time when i became aware of Girls Mysterious Feminine Powers (but that's a subject for another post) and the images in this video combined with the song lyrics ran over and over in my mind like an audiovisual mantra. The video is broken into several scenes so I'll highlight the ones that touch me most deeply.

• i love the early scene where the beret wearing girl struts down the steps towards a waiting male. She seduces him, pushing him down over the table so he is under Her and under Her spell. She then tosses him aside like the toy he is. Later She is seen dancing with him, then rejecting him once and for all, for which She gives a victory pose and a high kick of Her shoe in his direction.
• In another scene a man, the supposed hero, opens the coffin of a Female vampire in a kind of reverse Snow White scene. She immediately fixes him with Her eyes, he becomes enthralled by Her beauty. She then draws him close...and plants her fangs in his neck. She is then seen dancing ecstatically back towards her coffin. One assumes to lie in wait for Her next male victim.
• Another scene opens with a Female bat like entity opening Her vast wings to reveal a group of (near) naked males cowering under Her. As they awaken they begin to encircle Her in a worshipful dance.
• my absolute favorite scene though has to be the one i call the whip scene. It opens with a flash of light and smoke, revealing (again, i sense a theme here) a group of (near) naked males lying on the ground who are awakened by the presence of a beautiful She-Devil above them. In the opening scene She firmly holds a whip in Her hand! The males begin to reach out for Her, trying desperately to grab onto what, in this version of hell, they crave but can never have. The first time I saw this I thought the imagery beyond cool, the latex Devil suit, the oiled up muscular males glistening in the light wearing just thongs, their bare ass cheeks visible. The males also have straps around their wrists which i always assumed were a substitute for chains but the chains were nixed by the censors. My sense that this video was subject to some censorship is reinforced when we return to this sequence a little later in the video and the whip has mysteriously vanished. I assume the original intention was to have the She-Devil crack the whip on these males. Too bad, that would have been wonderful to see. Nevertheless this scene has to be one of the earliest music videos in which males are presented purely as sex objects. Pretty hot. Their virtual nudity and submissive postures/positions relative to the Female characters leave little doubt about the sexual objectification of these guys. Clearly this seems like a case of the girls getting a little revenge on the guys when you consider how many male 80's acts showed oiled up Women in cages in their videos. Clearly Bananarama were sending a not at all subtle message here. The scene ends with the males finally reaching Her and holding Her aloft like a Queen or Goddess

Needless to say i love this video. It is clearly an early Girl-Power video and Banannarama deserve credit as one of the pioneer groups in the march to pop music domination by Female performers over the next 20+ years.

** i humbly apologize for using a lower case g here. i of course mean Girls. i just wanted to emphasize the dramatic transformation that occurred within me at that time.

Highlights 2011 : Teen Girls Sweep Google Science Fair

Pretty amazing though not really surprising. Girls kick ass in school. 

Women CEO's on the Rise as We/we enter 2012

The beginning of 2012 marks a milestone in the continuing rise of Women in business. In October IBM appointed Virginia Rometty as its next CEO, a position She will assume in the coming days.  She will join the ranks of several other well known Fortune 500 companies with a Female CEO. This list now includes Ursula Burns of Xerox, Indra Nooyi of PepsiCo, Ellen J. Kullman of DuPont and Meg Whitman of Hewlett-Packard.

Stop for a second and think about this;

• DuPont
• PepsiCo
• Hewlett-Packard

That's an impressive list. Now think that just 20 years ago (1992!) this would seem unthinkable. Burns is in fact the second consecutive Female CEO at Xerox.
