you'll make a great housewife!

domestic bliss
Life has been in flux lately with many changes taking place making it a whirlwind of a summer. As i have begun to relate in the first part of the “Cabin boy” story my relationship as a submissive to my fierce, intelligent and beautiful Goddess is changing. my true nature is being introduced and exposed to a wider circle of Her friends. This is both exciting and a little terrifying to me but our relationship is truly growing as a result. In fact i would say that, ironically perhaps, i have never felt more free since being so exposed. i feel no shame but instead a great joy in being able to serve and worship Her so openly and also express my submissiveness towards Women in general through Her close friends. There are many more exciting experiences to come i am sure.

i will continue with that in the next installment of “Cabin boy” coming up very shortly.

Right now however i want to discuss the other great transition that has been occurring this summer. In late July i had my annual evaluation at work. Entering the office of my two Female supervisors for that meeting i was filled with no small amount of dread. No doubt about it i have been struggling for the past year at work, with ever increasing numbers of projects, deadlines and tasks i have reached the point of burnout, if not misery. i had been talking about this with Goddess for a few months and it was obvious that She was becoming increasingly concerned with my emotional state.

At the July meeting my bosses also expressed concern. They related to me that they could see that projects were falling behind and that i seemed deeply unhappy. They decided that we should make some adjustments and reevaluate the situation at the end of August. Admittedly i was a bit shocked and surprised that They were giving me such a short timeline (about one month) in which to see improvement but i had to admit to myself that what They were saying was in fact true. i was struggling and i was very unhappy.

i of course related all of this to Goddess who became even more concerned. She decided that i really needed to give serious consideration to leaving my job. Now for me i found the idea of quitting very difficult. It is not really in my nature to walk away from a challenge as i can be a kind of tenacious pit bull when it comes to such things. i acknowledge that this is not always a positive characteristic. But being me i decided to double down and try to turn things around. i put in even longer hours and tried to address all of the issues related to my work.

And You/you know what?

It did indeed work. i began making real steady progress on several projects and things were turning the corner.

But i was even more miserable than ever. My relationship with Goddess was suffering as we were not seeing as much of each other and i was exhausted all the time.

i think the weekend at the cabin was Goddesses way of trying to re-set my mind, to get my focus back on things that actually made me feel happy, fulfilled and that enhanced Our/our relationship. Following that weekend we took a short vacation on the coast to try to clear my head. This helped a great deal and i came back with a decision made and Her approval and support (which is of course essential).

I decided to leave my job. A difficult but necessary decision.

Fortunately for Us/us this will have no real impact on our financial position. Goddess has a very successful career in which She far out earns me. my contribution, financially, to our relationship is modest at best. Having that level of security makes such a decision much easier.

So last week i announced my decision to both my supervisors. They both seemed to understand my position and appreciated my honesty. So i will finish up at the end of next week.

In the meantime Goddess has been planing some adjustments to our life. She has a large list of projects around the house that need to be done and She has embarked upon creating a formal list of routine chores that i am to carry out.

“boys need structure” She says “or else they drift aimlessly, and I’m not letting that happen to you”.

“Besides it will be nice to come home to dinner already made everyday”

“ I think you’ll make a great housewife!”

That word “housewife” was, i suspect, quite deliberately chosen by Her to make an impression on me.  She was expressing the reversal of traditional gender roles in Our/our relationship in a way that was meant to be a bit teasing and humiliating for me. She said it with a smile, a very satisfying smile. Clearly She was enjoying the prospect.

Obviously it was also a bit of a slap at my male ego, such as it is. Its pretty hard to sustain a male ego however when i think about how much time i have spent naked on my hands and knees, cleaning Her boots with my tongue while sporting a massive dripping erection.

Not much of an issue for me.

Another thing that will change is that of course She attains total financial dominance over me. Again however this is not an issue as She had already assumed this role in practice anyway as the decision maker and primary breadwinner in Our/our relationship. Nothing really changes there except that now She really will hold all the gold. As i like to say ‘She who holds the gold makes the rules’. But again in practice this was already a reality.

i also need to point out that Goddess is not forbidding me from looking for another job, just that She feels for now it would be far more productive, not to mention healthy for both of us, if i focus on supporting Her and strengthening Our relationship.

i won’t argue with that.

  1. Mr. EJ,

It use to be women were subjugated to men due to financial domination. Women needed to find a "good man" to "hitch their buggy" to. The converse is not anything but was was common for women before. No need to fear.

I express my sincere regrets that your carreer falterd. I can imagine that was a difficult thing to come to terms with.

For your time at home, I strongly recommend the book "matha stewart's homekeeping handbook". Being a stay at home husband is a full time job. I think you will quickly find it so reading the book.
